All contributions to Orthodox Cinema are entirely voluntary and given free of charge. Making a contribution does not grant you any special rights, privileges, or access to locked content.

✅ This support is not payment for a good or service — it is solely financial support for the platform's mission.

Under Art. 22 et seq. of the Bulgarian Obligations and Contracts Act (ZZD), these voluntary contributions constitute a gratuitous disposition in favor of Orthodox Cinema, without any consideration in return. The platform is not registered as a merchant and does not carry out commercial activity through the collection of voluntary support.

🔒 Personal Data Protection (GDPR)

What data do we collect?

  • For anonymous contributions: Only amount, date and payment method
  • For non-anonymous contributions (with your consent): Name, email (optional), note
  • Audit data (automatic): Timestamps of each action, payment session identifier — no personal data
  • Financial data (legally required): Amount, currency, date, method, transaction ID — retained for 5 years per Accounting Act

Why do we collect data?

  • To register the contribution in the system
  • To send a thank you letter (if you provided an email)
  • For accountability and transparency
  • To fulfil legal obligations for accounting records (Accounting Act)

Retention periods

  • Personal data (name, email, message): until deletion request or 3 years, whichever comes first
  • Financial data (amount, date, method, transaction ID): 5 years per Accounting Act — cannot be deleted earlier
  • Audit trail (event timestamps): 5 years — legal traceability requirement

How do we protect the data?

  • We do not store credit card data
  • We do not store IP addresses (only hash for fraud protection)
  • We do not store browser data — only an anonymous hash for fraud protection
  • Data is stored in a secure database
  • We do not share data with third parties
  • For card payments — Stripe processes card data (PCI-DSS Level 1). We never see or store card numbers

Your rights

  • You can request deletion of your data
  • You can request a copy of your data
  • You can change your consent at any time
  • You may request a copy of your data in machine-readable format (right to portability)
